Transcoding Errors

Problem Description

Video systems often transcode video from one format to another.  If errors occur in disk or tape reads, or in communicating video between systems, then transcoding errors can occur.  These may result in blocks of mis-colored pixels appearing within the image.

Blocks of mis-colored pixels appear within the output video, possible persisting for extended periods of time (minutes or longer).

Review diagnostic data for transcoding equipment that is processing the affected channels to see if errors are occurring.
